Let's Pray
So many times we have read over the last few months…
“Every revival in history has been birthed in prayer.”
— many sources!
At last! We seem united in something, we agree on something. Regardless of our denominations, our theology, our doctrine; we all agree on this: every revival in history has been birthed in prayer. In fact, the church itself was birthed in prayer.
After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31 (NLT)
Yet, it remains a sad indictment of our Christian lives that whilst we’re always enthusiastic about saying what we do, we often lack the same enthusiasm to do what we say! Now, please hear our hearts. We’re just the same. We fall short, we miss the mark, we fail to do everything we set out with the best of intentions to do. We’re no different. So, we write this to challenge ourselves as much as to challenge others of you who may be reading.
We’re all agreed, we seek revival. We’re all agreed, we recognise that every revival in history has been birthed in prayer. Therefore, we’re all agreed, we need to pray. So, let’s pray!
We’ve established a private prayer group on the PrayerMate app, and we’d love you to join. This is a fabulous app for your phone that will help to encourage you to pray. It helps to organise your prayer life and reminds you to pray. After all, we all need to be better organised and to be reminded every now and again, don’t we? (Or is it just me?)
Follow the link to download the app and join the prayer group, or scan the QR code if you already have the app on your phone – instructions available.
But for now, let us pray …
Then we will never abandon you again.
Revive us so we can call on your name once more.
Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.
Make your face shine down upon us.
Only then will we be saved.Psalm 80:18-19 (NLT)
